Jameel Kariem

Jameel is a registered pharmacist with extensive experience in community pharmacy and other sectors within the field. He earned his BPharm degree from UCT in 1989 and currently serves as the responsible pharmacist and owner of Rondebosch East Pharmacy in Cape Town. The pharmacy features an active immunisation and family planning clinic. Jameel is a member of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) and has served on several FIP committees. He has actively participated in activities associated with the 82nd International FIP Congress for 2024 through the Pharmaceutical Society of South Africa (PSSA).

He holds certifications in PIMART, Administration of Immunizations and Injections (including ADR and EPI vaccines), and Lumira-Dx Point of Care Testing protocols. Additionally, Jameel is a member of the PSSA and serves as the immediate past chairman of the Western Cape (CWP) branch of the PSSA for 2025. He holds the position of vice-president of the national SAACP sector of the PSSA for 2024/2025. He is also a member of the Independent Community Pharmacy Association (ICPA) and currently serves on the Western Cape Committee of the ICPA.

Jameel is dedicated to serving his community and has a keen interest in utilising clinical pharmacy and Point of Care Testing (POCT) within his practice. He firmly believes in supporting the pharmaceutical profession and collaborates with colleagues and organisations to foster the development of the field.
