Bada Pharasi

Bada Pharasi was appointed COO of IPASA in August 2020 and CEO in July 2021, having worked as a consultant in pharmaceutical policy for just under three years prior to this. He has over 35 years’ experience in pharmacy management, policy making and development, operational research, medicines legislation and procurement. He played a leading role in the development and implementation of South Africa’s National Drug Policy, which was adopted in 1996 by the country’s Cabinet as official policy. He has worked in the public, private and non-governmental sectors in South Africa and has served as a member of the Board of the Office of Health Standards Compliance, The Department of Health’s Pricing Committee, and as President of the South African Pharmacy Council. Bada has written and published extensively professionally.
