Nishern Govender

Nishern Govender is an accomplished pharmacist with extensive experience in clinical pharmacy, medical & scientific affairs, and clinical pharmacology. He holds a Pharmacy degree from WITS, a Master of Pharmacy, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacology from UKZN. With over 25 years in the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare sector, Nishern has held positions in clinical practice within community and institutional pharmacy, both in private and public healthcare, as well as in clinical research and academia.

His work has been recognised through various publications and conference presentations, highlighting his commitment to advancing pharmaceutical sciences and healthcare education. Currently, he serves as the Head of Medical and Scientific Affairs for Haleon South and Sub-Saharan Africa, while maintaining an active role in clinical pharmacy and pharmacist education, focusing on the rational use of medicine and patient safety.
