Graduated Bachelor of Pharmacy in 1976 from Rhodes University in Grahamstown where I completed my internship at LL Wallace and Co in 1977 and thereafter worked as a qualified pharmacist at the same pharmacy until December 1978 . I joined Colletts Pharmacy in Stutterheim in December 1978 where I remained until October 1988 ostensibly to go into retirement . This was not to be as I am now currently a locum pharmacist in The Retail Pharmacy in East London so my community pharmacy career has spanned a period of 46 years to date ! I have been involved in Pharmacy politics since 1985 in various committee positions representing the Border and Eastern Districts branch on PSSA , SAACP national executive committees as well as a single term on the SA Pharmacy Council up until November 2018. In 1999 I was elected the Boehringer Ingelheim Community Pharmacist of the year and in 2002 our pharmacy was a finalist in the BI Community Pharmacy of the Year competition.
