Mehboob Ali Cassim, Chairman of the Independent Community Pharmacy Association (ICPA)

Mehboob A. Cassim is the Chairman of the Independent Community Pharmacy Association (ICPA) and a community pharmacist in Cape Town, South Africa. He also serves as Chairperson of the Health & Social Services portfolio at the Cape Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is a member of the NHI Forum Task Team, shaping pharmacy’s role in South Africa’s healthcare system.

Passionate about mentorship, Mehboob empowers young, previously disadvantaged pharmacists to establish their own practices. He was part of the 2016 Panel of Experts reviewing pharmacist competence standards and played a key role in the University of the Western Cape’s School of Pharmacy logo design. A firm believer in “Knowledge is Power,” he lives by the motto: “Pharmacy – Nothing About Us, Without Us.”
